The faith formation programs (School of Faith) and (Domestic Church Catechism) of Sacred Heart Parish exists to assist children in embracing in the word of God and lays the foundation for them to become disciples of Jesus Christ. This is achieved through the celebration of the Sacraments, the study of Catholic teaching and the sharing of faith through scripture, prayer, and the practice of the Works of Mercy. As well and primarily through the support and doctrine they receive at home.

It is designed to help all children learn about the Catholic faith, as well as grow in their spirituality at the various levels of experience and comprehension. An understanding of the Gospel message of Jesus Christ, its application to our lives as Catholic Christians today, and the teachings and tradition of our Church are central to our curriculum.

We encourage all children and their families to become actively engaged in our Faith Formation Program, to grow in faith, hope, and love, and take part in the life of the Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

What is Domestic Church?

FAMILY: The family is the Domestic Church. This means that it is in the context of the family that we first learn who God is and to prayerfully seek His will for us.

At Sacred Heart we offer parent the opportunity to prepare themselves to teach the faith at home and be the primary catechists to their children. Through the classes in the Parish Institute parents can grow in the knowledge of their faith.
